Your child is getting sick? Reach out.
You're wondering whether something needs to be seen? Ask.
One of the reasons I created Anchor in Tide was to make it easier for parents to reach their pediatrician before a small concern becomes a bigger one or before bad habits are engrained.

“When should I reach out?”
Fever and wondering if your child is sick - not all children with fevers need to be seen, however I trust that you know when something is really off with your child.
If your instinct says that your child needs to be seen, please book the appointment.
If your instinct says that you know what you need to do to support your child through the illness, but need a note for school, send a message.
If your child has asthma, we should have a solid plan. Make a visit to get the Asthma Action Plan updated
If we have the plan updated, plan to reach out to me at the start of any exacerbation. Early intervention prevents hospitalization!
Worried about a new developmental concern or a change in mood or behavior?
You may want to schedule a phone visit first so that we can talk through all the details. There are many times that a parent wants to talk about everything out of earshot of their child and that is totally reasonable. After our phone visit, we can find a good time to bring the child in so that we can come up with a good plan.
If you think your child has ADHD, the first step is getting the Vanderbilt screens filled out by teachers and parents (as many adults as possible). I can send these to you before our visit, just send a message.
If a new medication was started and you are wondering if you are seeing side effects
if there is a concern for anaphylaxis (hives, breathing problems, vomiting, diarrhea), call 911 or get to the closest ER.
if your child has other side effects that you want to discuss today, you can first look to see what appointment is available today.
If you don’t see a time that works for your schedule, send a message marked “urgent” or call
otherwise, schedule a phone or in-person visit to discuss further
When in doubt, reach out. That's what I'm here for.
